Meta’s new Andromeda AI

It looks like Facebook is up to its old tricks again, constantly tweaking things to make sure we never want to put our phones down.

It’s not just about mindlessly scrolling through your timeline or checking in on an old friend anymore. To keep us hooked, they’re updating the algorithm yet again. This latest shift, which started back in April, is all about making sure your News Feed feels like it’s reading your mind and staying perfectly in sync with what you’ve been searching for.

The goal is to make sure the stories you actually care about show up first. They’re basically trying to figure out what you’re into by tracking exactly how long you stop and stay on an article.

They’ve added two big new factors to the mix: post diversity and time spent. Basically, the more time you spend lingering on a post, the more the system learns about you. It’s a huge data grab that helps the platform serve up exactly what you want to see next.

Does this mean we can be more precise in our objectives? Absolutely. We are now showing exactly what we are selling to the specific audience looking for that product or service. While the ads felt a bit “laggy” at first, the conversion rates improved significantly as the algorithms finished their learning phase.

The current update focuses on key questions:

Understanding the Impact of Meta Ads

  1. Identity: Who created the post?
  2. Time When was the post created?
  3. CTR (Click-Through Rate): How likely is it to be clicked?
  4. Engagement How much time will the user spend on it?

Based on this data, the algorithm makes future recommendations to that user. This proves that creating Reels in combination with ads is a brilliant way to navigate a campaign’s learning phase.

In our tests, the first few Reels took longer to “prime” the algorithm, but the subsequent results were highly satisfying. We also found that a strategic mix of Paid Ads, Organic Reels, and Non-Ad Content worked remarkably well to build trust and lower the overall cost-per-acquisition.
